I am a wife to an incredible husband (Wesley) and a ridiculously blessed home-educating Mom to three beautiful children.

I love being outdoors, spending time with my family and reading and writing.  I am passionate about family and very often go against the grain – mostly because I read endlessly and am always researching something…   😉  We love life and enjoy exploring new things together.

I work with Usborne Books at Home, as a Team Leader and Educational Specialist.  I’ve had the incredible opportunity to build a business while still being at home with our children and spending as much time with my family as I can.  Usborne is so much more to me than a just a job.  I am sincerely passionate about children, literacy, spreading a love for reading, and, well, great books!

I’ve been writing since I was very young and literally had visions of living in a house full of children’s books.  For the past 4 years I have been working with the Children’s Institute of Literature, honing my writing skills, studying children’s books and teen lit, and soaking up all the knowledge I can.  I have written countless articles and short stories for children and am currently working (albeit, slowly) on a historical fiction novel for teens.

It is my goal, through Usborne, to inspire parents and educators to get REALLY excited about growing passionate readers.  It is my dream that all children would see the full value of reading and the excitement and delight that books can give.

I trust that as parents, grandparents, teachers, leaders, care-givers, we will be the motivators and the glowing examples for our young people.  That they would look to us and see people who believe in literacy and are doing everything we can to provide fantastic books, resources, and encouragement.  It is my prayer that children in this generation grow up not only to be competent readers, but excited, self-motivated life-long readers and learners who can’t wait to “jump in” to the next book and the next life experience!

I am currently working on finishing my diploma in Chidren’s Literature and Writing along with 2 books – one non-fiction, and one fiction, both for tweens.

This blog is meant to be a place where I can share my ideas, discoveries, information, happy (and sad) moments, struggles, triumphs, and hopefully inspire others in some small way.

Join us on our journey through those wonderful Everyday Discoveries!!!

Please feel free to contact me, I’d love to hear from you.
